Cameroon invite Samuel Eto’o to London Olympic Games

The Anzhi Makachkala forward will be present at the forthcoming Games to give a morale boost to his compatriots who will be participating in different disciplines

Cameroon's Ministry of Sports has invited Samuel Eto’o to accompany the country’s athletes to the 2012 Summer Olympic Games set to kick off on July 27 in London.

The former Indomitable Lions captain, who will be returning to the set up in August after serving out an eight-month suspension, will be Cameroon’s special guest at the Games and his presence is aimed at boosting athletes’ morale.

Cameroon did not qualify for the men’s football tournament but the west African nation will be represented in other disciplines.

Eto’o won the men’s football Olympic gold medal in 2000 with Cameroon at the Sydney 2000 Summer Olympic Games.
