We need to keep supporting Harimau Muda, says Malaysian Prime Minister

Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak reaffirmed his support for the Harimau Muda team via Twitter, after they suffered a heartbreaking defeat to Indonesia yesterday
Malaysian Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak has urged all Malaysians to keep supporting Harimau Muda despite their frustrating defeat to Indonesia yesterday.

Ong Kim Swee's charges ended their SEA Games gold medal quest yesterday after Indonesia eliminated them via penalties. However, the Malaysian PM said that the entire nation should still be proud of their efforts.

"Even though Harimau Muda did not win yesterday, I'm sure everyone did their level best to contribute on the field," he posted on his official Twitter account.

"I hope everyone continues supporting them."

The Young Garudas initially took the lead on the 30th minute mark, and looked well on course for victory, before Harimau Muda restored parity courtesy of an 85th minute goal from Thamil Arasu.

The game was then brought into extra time, before ultimately going into penalties with the score remaining 1-1. Thamil Arasu and Shahrul Saad missed their respective spot kicks and Indonesia took full advantage of it by converting their ones to defeat Malaysia and thus booking their spot in the final.
