Sporting Clube de Goa beat Dempo SC 1-0 in a round 13 I-League encounter on Saturday afternoonWelcome to Goal's new I-League feature: Top and Flop. For every game, a candidate will be put forward, as chosen by Goal, who deserves recognition for achieving something special. It won't necessarily be the best player in the league - but whoever we nominate will have done something amazing. In the same vein, we will also name a player whose performance wasn’t up to the mark on the given day and eventually came to hurt his side.
|TOP: GONZALO NEILA
The Spaniard prevented the Dempo duo of Alwyn George and Holicharan Narzary from getting a shot on target besides being a goal threat himself. In fact he did manage to find the target only to be found off side. It was his all round display which ensured that Sporting held on to their slender lead to relegate Dempo to yet another loss.
|FLOP: DEBABRATA ROY
The former Mahindra United player, who is more familiar in the left back position and employed as a center back in the last few matches by head coach Arthur Papas, gave away the handball in his box. This was ultimately converted by Boima Karpeh and was the difference between the two teams in a tightly contested affair.
