Oscar Bruzon seems to have put the controversy with the referees behind as he gears up for the tie against Pune FC in a round eight game of the I-League.
Bruzon had blamed referee Santhosh Kumar for being biased against Sporting Clube de Goa as his side went down 3-1 to Mohammedan Sporting over the weekend.
“We have already forgotten the defeat of the last matchday. We should forget about all the referees and all the things that are out of the game. We should control all the factors that we can control. For us, of course, there is no pressure in the I-League,” he told Goal.
Sporting face Pune FC and East Bengal in their next two home games and Bruzon wants to test the mettle of his squad against arguably the strongest teams in the league.
“The game against Pune FC and East Bengal are games that we should enjoy by playing against the best that we have today in India. So for us we will try our best to know how far or how close we are from these top Indian teams.
“But anyway, I don’t bother about Pune FC and East Bengal. I have said it in the past that if we are in our level, we can beat anybody. So the key for us is not focusing on Pune FC, not focusing on the referee but only on what we can do during 90 minutes,” he mentioned.
Boima Karpeh has been suspended for two matches for punching Collin Abranches of Mohammedan Sporting. Dawson Fernandes and Victorino Fernandes will be handed a chance to shine for the Flaming Oranje.
“Boima can't play. So this is a big opportunity for the national players as they are also in the list of the national coach (Wim Koevermans). Victorino and Dawson - they already know that this is a big opportunity for them,” he stated.
Jovel Martins and Mackroy Peixoto are likely to miss the tie due to injuries.
