On a night that both Malaysia and Bahrain underperformed, Norshahrul Idlan Talaha outshined the other 21 players on the pitch to win Goal's Man of the Match award for his contribution in the 1-1 draw.

After going down to a very cautious Bahrain side, the home side seemed reluctant to take possession and control the game in the second half.

As the match looked to end in a defeat to K. Rajagobal's men, up stepped Norshahrul Idlan with a beautiful curler in the 71st minute to equalise for them; a scoreline that stuck until the final whistle.

The goal, his first for the Malaysia national team in an 'A' FIFA match this year, also showcased his ability to perform professionally in spite of the issues surrounding his private life currently.
