Ong Kim Swee wants players to remain focused despite SEA Games' date change

Ong Kim Swee wants his players to focus and continue training as usual despite hosts Myanmar changing the dates for the SEA games.

Ong Kim Swee has called on his Young Tigers to remain focused despite the hosts for the SEA Games, Myanmar, changing the date for football this December.

According to Ong, the new date, which has been changed from October 29 to November 6, has affected the tournament's structure.

According to Utusan, he said: "However, this has not affected our morale as we are already used to Myanmar who love to spring suprises.

"So far, the players had no problems with the new schedule but what’s important is our main target for this year which is football," he added.

He also explained that the team are currently training as usual and they will face Jordan in a friendly next month.

Ong Kim Swee’s boys are currently in a jubilant mood after winning the 2013 Merdeka Cup, but they were defeated by ATM in their last friendly game at Wisma FAM.
