Another problem plagues the organiser of the much-criticised exhibition match between Malaysia XI and Barcelona, one and a half month after the matchThe organiser of the exhibition match between Barcelona and Malaysia in August; BSC Soccer Malaysia Sdn. Bhd., has been blacklisted from using any facilities under the supervision of the Shah Alam City Council (MBSA), reported the Malay Mail earlier today.
The decision was made after the RM300,000 cheque for the use of the Shah Alam Stadium was found to have bounced, said MBSA deputy director for corporate communications; Shahrin Ahmad to the daily. Shahrin also said that MBSA is considering suing the company if the payment is not made.
The match was fraught with hiccups from the start, as Barcelona had refused at the last minute to hold the match at the Bukit Jalil National Stadium as initially agreed, citing the poor condition of the pitch, neccesitating a frantic venue change to the Shah Alam Stadium.
During the event, the organisers also failed to provide fans who had purchased the more-expensive tickets with seats due to the change in seating arrangement that was caused by the change of venue, the local media were kept away from the seats with better vantage point which had been reserved for the foreign media, and a member of the local media was then manhandled by an overzealous security member after the end of the match.
