India storm into the SAFF Championship 2013 final, beat Maldives 1-0

Arnab Mondal scored a goal in the 86th minute to help India down Maldives in the second semi-final of the SAFF Championship 2013 at the Dashrath Rangshala Stadium, Nepal, on Monday evening. In what shall be a repeat of the last edition’s finale, the Blue Tigers shall face the Afghanistan challenge.

This is will be the record ninth appearance in the final of the South Asian tournament for India who will be looking to defend their title for the second consecutive time.

Afghanistan had edged past Nepal 1-0 in the other semi-final final and will take on the defending champions on Wednesday, 11 September, in the final that will be held at the Dashrath Rangasala and will kick-off at 6.15 pm IST.
