Lengthy bans and fines for Myanmar players and officials

The ugly scenes from the final Myanmar National League game led to fan violence as well and the MFF have come down hard on players and officials
Five players and two officials were hit with suspensions and fines following the outbreak of a mass brawl that marred the August 4 match between Naypyitaw FC and Yangon United.

The final Myanmar National League match of the season had to be abandoned in the 37th minute following the clashes on the pitch which sparked off similar scenes between fans in the stands as well.

The Myanmar Football Federation (MFF) imposed the strongest punishment on Naypyitaw's Khine Htoo, with the defender hit with a one-year ban for his kick to the head of Yang Aung Kyaw.

Team-mates Zaw Lin, Tin Zaw Moe and Zaw Myo Oo were also punished. Zaw Lin was struck with a 3-match ban and a USD500 fine, Zaw Lin and Zaw Myo Oo were both handed 5-match bans and USD500 and USD200 fines each.

Naypyitaw coach Myo Hlaing and technical consultant did not escape punishment and they have both been banned for 3 matches and fined USD 500 each.

The club meanwhile have been made to pay USD30,000 for damages to the Wunna Theikdi Stadium following the battle between fans in the stands.

Meanwhile Yangon United's Kyi Lin was the only player from the club to be sanctioned, beind handed a 3-match band and a USD500 fine.
