The Young Tigers defeated FC Pohronie 3-2 on Tuesday and Ong Kim Swee was happy with the performances of his charges
Harimau Muda boss Ong Kim Swee declared his satisfaction after his men defeated Slovakian side FC Pohronie by the score line of 3-2 in a friendly match on Tuesday.
Two goals from Hazwan Bakri and one more from Rozaimi Rahman was enough to secure a morale-boosting win, after returning from a frustrating stint at the World University Games recently.
Nonetheless, Ong was happy enough to see his boys putting on a positive performance.
"I liked the way we played, we were very organized at the back considering that Kenny partnered Shahrul Saad at the back for almost 70 minutes, after Amirzafran got injured," he told Goal.
"But most importantly, the strikers got their finishing touches with Hazwan and Rozaimi both on the score sheet.
Ong went on to add that his men still have some aspects to improve on, and that he will be working with them to ensure that they continue improving ahead of the Merdeka Cup in September, and ultimately the SEA Games at the end of the year.
"However, we need to start playing with more positivity on the field; playing higher on the field.
In the match yesterday, we made silly mistakes in our area, and even gave away a penalty in the third minute.
"But the result was good considering that we played against an opponent who are physically stronger than us, although we will continue to work on our mistakes."
Harimau Muda will play their next friendly match in Slovakia on August 30.
