Malaysia were held by Thai Premier League club Chonburi FC to a goalless draw at National Stadium Bukit Jalil last night.
However captain for the night, Aidil Zafuan, was happy with the result as he believes that all the players did well despite playing in Ramadhan.
Speaking to the reporters after the game, Aidil said "Overall I am happy with our performance tonight. We did not make a lot of mistakes and personally I am happy as well because we got a clean sheet. I think every players gave their best tonight, and playing during fasting month is not easy and that is not our excuse to play badly, so I think we played really well tonight."
Aidil played the full 90 minutes, in the first half partnering Azizi Mat Rose, and in the second half playing with ATM defender Amiridzwan Taj.
Commenting on his partnership with Azizi, Aidil said "This is the first time I played alongside Azizi and it did not feel awkward at all. I think we played well and we made only few small mistakes and this is a positive signs for our future games together."
Aidil most likely to captain the national team once again when Malaysia entertain Chelsea this Sunday at the Shah Alam stadium.
