The Harimau Muda 'A' boss is set to bring in two names from Malaysia as emergency back-ups, with them only having 13 fit players at the World Universities Games in Kazan
Sarawak's midfielder Junior Eldstal has been given the call-up to fly to Kazan while the other name that is on Ong's radar is Johor Darul Takzim's Mohammad Nazri.
However, they are currently waiting for approval from the Johor Football Association, with Fandi Ahmad being a back-up choice in case they fail to bring in Nazri.
"I suggested two names, which were Junior Eldstal and Mohammed Nazri.
"If the organizers can confirm their registration, we will fly them in as soon as possible but at the same time, I will have to cancel two other registrations," Ong told Berita Harian.
"Most likely, we will be sending Wan Ahmad Amirzafran and Nazirul Che Naim back, considering that they will need time to recover from their respective injuries.
The Harimau Muda squad arrived in Kazan with only 17 players last week, but injuries and suspensions has reduced the number of players available to a mere 13.
Ong Kim Swee submitted an emergency request to the organizers and now that it has been approved, he is set to bring in two extra names from Malaysia, pending official confirmation.
