Semen Padang coach Jafri Sastra is focused on the AFC Cup quarterfinal clash against East Bengal and is busy researching on his opponents.
"We're still looking for the reference to scout and know the detail of East Bengal’s style of play. We will try it through internet, video, or other sources. We shall also see their record with Indonesian teams,” he said.
Jafri admitted that East Bengal potentially could become a tough opponent if Semen Padang do not prepare well. He mentioned that the two games against Churchill Brothers in the group stage this season would serve as a good reference point. The Indonesian team had drawn the away tie and won their leg against the I-League champions in which they had fielded a weakened side.
"I think those two teams don't have any differences in style of play. Even in the Indian league, East Bengal's position is below Churchill Brothers,” he pointed,
Meanwhile Semen Padang’s CEO Erizal Anwar is trying to contact Buriram United of Thailand for a friendly game to aid in their preparations for the clash against East Bengal.
