Cristiano Ronaldo to save mangroves in Indonesia

The Real Madrid superstar has been invited to Bali to help campaign for efforts to raise awareness about mangrove ecosystems in Ngurah Rai Forest Park
Portuguese superstar Cristiano Ronaldo will be in Indonesia today to help raise awareness about the conservation of mangroves, alongside president Susilo Bambany Yudhoyono and his wife, Ani.

The Real Madrid forward has been invited to the Southeast Asian nation to be part of the "Bali Save Mangrove, Save Earth" campaign to be held in the Ngurah Rai Forest Park.

"This campaign aims to raise the public awareness of the importance of mangrove forests and encourage them to save and restore its ecosystem," a statement on the Indonesia government's site read.

The Indonesian minister of Forestry, Zulkifli Hasan, will present Ronaldo with a "Forum Peduli Mangrove Bali" certificate as a gesture of appreciation for his efforts.
