The 41-year-old believes the German side will pose a tough challenge, despite their poor form in the Bundesliga, while also admitting the need for squad rotation

Sevilla head coach Unai Emery says he is aware of the potential threat Freiburg pose his side ahead of their Europa League clash at the Ramon Sanchez Pizjuan on Thursday.

The German side are currently 17th in the Bundesliga table having failed to win any of their seven games so far this season - but Emery insists they can be a match for anyone on their day.

"We hope to beat Freiburg but we know they are capable of beating anyone," Emery told reporters.

"They may only have three points in the league so far but then we have seen them draw with [Borussia[ Dortmund. Then they also lost 5-0 to Bayern [Munich], so they are unpredictable.

"We are the home side and we want to set the tempo for the game from the start. This is a very important match and Freiburg are even more focused having not played European football for years."

Emery also spoke about squad rotation, revealing that he will pick the players that he believes will win the game on the night.

"We will play with the best team possible to win," he added.

"We know that some players need a rest and others need playing time. The bottom line is there will be 18 players in the squad fit and ready to take part and to win the game."
