Magpies boss Alan Pardew makes seven changes to the team which drew with Everton on Monday evening as Demba Ba, Papiss Cisse and several other key players are rested
Pardew has rung the changes following his side's 2-2 draw with Everton on Monday as he looks to keep his team fresh, with Sunday's clash with Norwich at the Sports Direct Arena their third match in a week.
Ba, who revealed his displeasure at being left out of the Newcastle starting line-up to play the Toffees, is omitted completely along with strike partner Cisse as the Magpies start with Shola Ameobi alone up front.
Roman Amalfitano will make only his second appearance for Pardew's side since his move from Stade de Reims in the summer, while fellow new-boy Gael Bigirimana will play his third game for the Magpies in midfield with Yohan Cabaye rested and Vurnon Anita having left the squad to join up with his wife, who is in labour.
Pardew keeps the same back four which played at Goodison Park but keeper Steve Harper drops to the bench to be replaced by Rob Elliot.
Newcastle United: Elliot; Perch, Williamson, S.Taylor, Santon; Bigirimana, Gosling; Obertan, Vuckic, Amalfitano; Shola Ameobi.
Subs: Harper, Marveaux, Sammy Ameobi, Ferguson, Tavernier, Abeid, Campbell.
