thumbnail Hello,

The Argentine was in a bullish mood speaking prior to his side's Europa League semi-final second leg, insisting that he is only concerned about the fortunes of the Rojiblancos

Atletico Madrid coach Diego Simeone has stated he is not fazed by the capacity crowd awaiting his side at Mestalla ahead of their Europa League semi-final encounter with Valencia on Thursday.

The capital club go into the return leg with a 4-2 advantage, but Los Che managed to bounce back from their recent poor form with a resounding 4-0 victory over Real Betis on home soil at the weekend.

However, a calm and collected Simeone told reporters: "I do not care about the support Valencia will get at the Mestalla because [the fans] will not be playing.

"I only care about what happens on the pitch, nothing more nothing less."

Simeone then highlighted the importance that his players do not show any signs of complacency against Unai Emery's men, but remained confident they could successfully replicate the performance levels shown at the Vicente Calderon last week.

"We must be strong and play to our strengths," he continued. "It will be a very important match where we must handle the intensity.

"We must forget about our good performance in the first leg at the Calderon, but we will try to play the same way."

Kick-off at Mestalla is scheduled for 20.05CET.
