The Germany Under-21 attacker has been in intensive care for almost four weeks after a car crash, but is finally beginning to make slow steps towards a full recovery
The talented youngster was on his way to training on September 28 when his car crashed into an oncoming lorry. He was taken to hospital and then placed in an induced coma, and his situation was described as critical at one stage.
It is thought the incident was possibly caused by hypoglycemia. Thankfully, Vukcevic's condition has improved over the last few weeks and he has been moved to a rehabilitation centre.
In an official statement on the club's website, 1899 head coach Andreas Muller stated: "We remain very confident in the recovery of Boris. But the situation is still very tense, so we want to continue to deal with it respectfully and sensitively. Especially for Boris and his family. "
