The Villains coach has revealed that overcoming Bradford and reaching the tournament showpiece at Wembley would be a monumental achievement for his young side
Aston Villa manager Paul Lambert admits reaching the Capital One Cup final at Wembley would be an "absolutely phenomenal" accomplishment for his side.

The Villains travel to Valley Parade for their first leg semi-final clash with Bradford on Tuesday night.

Lambert has stated that overcoming their League Two opponents over two legs and reaching a Wembley final again would be "extraordinary" for the club.

11/4 Aston Villa are 11/4 with Bet365 to win the Capital One Cup this season
"To get there I think every player would tell you would be absolutely phenomenal," he told reporters.

"For this club to get to Wembley again would be extraordinary, but in a one-off game there you just never know what could happen.”

Bradford have failed to win in their last three outings in League Two, but Lambert is adamant they will be no pushovers come the semi-final.

"It [Bradford’s] will be a different team to the one that got beaten by Barnet at the weekend,” he continued. “You have to withstand that and be ready for it.

"The Bradford lads will give it everything they have got to try to turn us over. If we do what we have been doing that of late and match that then we'll see what happens.

"It's always tough. Bradford have got nothing to lose and everything to gain. Obviously it is a two-legged affair. We'll go up there and we know it will be a really good atmosphere.

I've been up there before and it will be a tough game for us. But if we play we have been of late, we'll see."
