Liverpool can't win the title ... but it's close, say Goal readers

Brendan Rodgers's Reds moved four points behind Chelsea at the top of the Premier League table with a comprehensive 3-0 victory over rivals Manchester United on Sunday

Liverpool ran riot against Manchester United on Sunday but it was not quite enough to convince a majority of Goal readers that the Reds can win the Premier League title in our latest poll.

10/3 Liverpool are 10/3 with Bet365 to win the Premier League title
Steven Gerrard scored two penalties and Luis Suarez rounded off a convincing 3-0 win for Liverpool at Old Trafford, as Nemanja Vidic was sent off.

The victory saw Brendan Rodgers's side move to within four points of league leaders Chelsea with a game in hand but the votes in our poll went marginally against the Merseysiders.

The results were very close, though, with 50.7 per cent of the votes going against Rodgers's men and 49.3% suggesting that they could topple Chelsea at the top.

Manchester City are still vying for the title, with three games in hand over Jose Mourinho's side and only six points to make up, while Arsenal cannot be counted out after picking up a vital three points away to north London rivals Tottenham on Sunday.

Whatever happens, Liverpool will have plenty of say in the title race - both Chelsea and Manchester City are still to visit Anfield.
