Who will be the Champions League top scorer this season? At the moment, it is Cristiano Ronaldo leading the way.
The Portuguese superstar has banged in an astonishing 11 goals in just six appearances for Real Madrid, which makes it an average of almost two strikes per game. It is no wonder that he has gotten the votes of the majority of Goal Singapore readers, with 66.9% tipping him to be the season's Golden Boot winner.
Fierce on his heels though is PSG enigma Zlatan Ibrahimovic, who also has a rather impressive record. The Swede star has made six appearances as well and is only one goal behind Ronaldo on 10. It is no wonder he has the second-highest number of votes, although the 13.9% pales in comparison to Ronaldo.
Messi, who has seven goals from four games for Barcelona and Robert Lewandowski with six in seven for Borussia Dortmund, have 10.8% and 2.3% of the votes respectively. The remaining 6.2% are optimistic enough to feel another player will overtake the above four to end up as the top scorer.
Argentinian whiz Messi was the competition's top scorer for a staggering four consecutive seasons starting from the 2008/09 campaign, with his tally of 14 in 2011/12 being the joint-highest in European Cup history with Jose Altafini of Milan and Italy in 1962/63.
Ronaldo broke his rival's streak last season, netting 12 as Real bowed out in the semi-finals on the back of a 4-3 aggregate loss to Dortmund.
