The England striker helped himself to a goal and an assist as Manchester United convincingly beat West Bromwich Albion 3-0 on Saturday's early kickoffIt’s been a while now since we last saw Manchester United convincingly beat opponents in the Premier League, but they did just that against West Bromwich Albion in the early kickoff on Saturday as they ran out comfortable 3-0 winners thanks to goals from Phil Jones, Wayne Rooney and Danny Welbeck.
Rooney starred for the Red Devils as he bagged a goal and an assist for himself, which was enough to see him getting the nod for Goal Singapore's EPL Player of the Week.
The first goal was one of real quality as slick interplay between Juan Mata, Rafael and Rooney himself ended with the Brazil defender finding the unmarked England striker with a pinpoint cross, and he made no mistake with a simple back-post header.
The 28-year-old then made a perfectly weighted throughball towards Welbeck’s path seven minutes from time and the substitute produced a smart finish to put the result beyond any doubt for the visitors.
Rooney now has 11 goals to his name in the Premier League and if he continues playing in devastating fashion as he did over the weekend, United might just have the slightest bit of hope to finish in the top four.
