Australians Abroad: Jedinak loses, a win for Valeri

The Socceroo midfielder tasted defeat at the Emirates Stadium in a tough round of fixtures for the Aussies in action throughout the football world

Mile Jedinak played the full game as Crystal Palace went down 2-0 away to Arsenal in the English Premier League on Sunday.

Jackson Irvine completed 90 minutes in Kilmarnock's 2-2 Scottish Premiership draw at home to Ross County.

In the Scottish League Cup semi-finals, Dylan McGowan was subbed off in the 64th minute as Hearts drew 2-2 at home to Inverness, the away side going on to win in a penalty shootout.


Mat Ryan was unable to keep a clean sheet but his side did claim all three points as Club Brugge defeated Mons 2-1 at home in the Belgian Pro League.

In the Netherlands, Jason Davidson played the full 90 minutes in Heracles' 2-1 loss at home to NAC Breda, while both Tommy Oar and Adam Sarota started and finished Utrecht's 1-1 draw at home to Ajax.

Carl Valeri came on just past the hour mark in Ternana's 2-1 Serie B victory at home to Cittadella, while Dario Vidosic also made a substitute appearance in FC Sion's 1-0 Swiss Super League defeat at Zurich. Oliver Bozanic was taken off after 61 minutes of Luzern's 3-1 loss to Grasshoppers.


Dino Djulbic played the full 90 minutes in Al Wahda's 3-2 win over Bani Yas in the United Arab Emirates and Alex Brosque also saw out the entire game in Al Ain's 1-1 draw at home to Al Dhafra. Finally, Brett Holman was on the losing side as his Al Nasr team went down 3-1 at Al Ahli.
