thumbnail Hello,

Rantie came on in the 70th minute against Premier League giants Liverpool, but was unable to get himself on the score sheet

ENGLAND

Tokelo Rantie was introduced in the last 20 minutes of Bournemouth's 2-0 defeat to Liverpool on Saturday afternoon. Rantie was involved in Bournemount's late attacks, but the South African forward didn't receive significant support to get through on goal.

Andrew Surman, another South African, put in a brave performance, but he was unable to stop Victor Moses and Daniel Sturridge from scoring. Surman was involved at the centre of outstanding build-up play for the hosts during the first-half.

Kagisho Dikgacoi could only watch his side Crystal Palace crash out of the FA Cup from distance. Palace were defeated 2-1 by Wigan Athletic, and this could be a blessing in disguise as they will concentrate on moving further away from the relegation zone.

Steven Pienaar also missed Everton's 4-0 win over Stevenage on Saturday. The former South African national team captain was not part of the squad to face Stevenage.

In the Championship, Bongani Khumalo's Doncaster Rovers were facing yet another defeat when Blackpool scored with only 12 minutes to play, but Billy Sharp's late goal sealed a valuable point away from home.

Khumalo's teammate Dean Furman watched from the bench, as manager Paul Dickov decided against using him this weekend.

In the League One division, Kgosi Ntlhe's Peterborough United squandered a 3-0 lead to eventually lose 5-4 to Oldham Athletic. The South African international wasn't part of the team.

BELGIUM

Ayanda Patosi played in the last 14 minutes of Lokeren's 1-0 loss to Standard Liege on Friday night. Liege are top of the Belgian Jupiler log.

Darren Keet conceded four goals as KV Kortrjik went down 4-3 to Lierse on Saturday. It was Keet's worst game of 2014 having kept a clean sheet in his last game.

Racing Genk's new skipper Anele Ngcongca will lead his side against KAA Gent this afternoon.

The three South Africans will soon be competing against Andile Jali in the Belgian Pro League. The 23-year-old completed his move to KV Oostende on Saturday night, and could make his debut next week.

NETHERLANDS

Kamohelo Mokotjo's PEC Zwolle came from a goal down to beat NAC Breda 2-1 on Friday night. The 22-year-old Odendaalsrus midfielder played the entire 90 minutes.

Thulani Serero will be in action with Ajax Amsterdam later this afternoon as the Dutch giants look to collect as many points as possible in their quest to defend their league title.
