The defending Malaysian Super League champions welcome tough opposition in their first home game in the league as they seek to extend their unbeaten record at Jalan Besar Stadium
The defending Malaysian Super League champions already lost their first tie against Pahang FA last week, but this clash will be different as they return to the Jalan Besar Stadium on Saturday.
On a ground where they only dropped two points during last season's title-winning campaign with the vociferous backing of the crowd, new coach Fandi Ahmad will hope his charges can extend that record.
Although he will be leading a new and relatively younger team, it is perhaps that formidable record that is the cause of optimism for most Goal Singapore readers as 59% have tipped them to emerge victorious. A further 21.3% believe Selangor will triumph, while 19.7% think that it will end all square.
This, despite the fact that Selangor are one of the title favorites and possess a stronger squad on paper, complete with experienced campaigners who are sure to give the LionsXII a hard time.
The LionsXII are scheduled to kick off the game against Selangor at 7.45p.m.
