With the current plight of Manchester United, it is natural for them to be linked with many different players in the transfer window. One of them is Bayern Munich centre-back Dante, who suggested that he would be interested in a move.
"I appreciate Manchester United's interest," he told Fox Sport Brasil on Wednesday.
However, the Brazil international then back-tracked on his comments and insisted he was happy to remain at the Allianz Arena despite the links to United.
But with his contract yet to be renewed, Dante's agent Marcus Marin suggested his client would still be interested in a move to the Premier League.
With the Red Devils back-line looking shaky recently, having conceded 10 goals in their last six games in all competitions, the 30-year-old Dante could be a shrewd addition by David Moyes.
The majority of Goal Singapore readers also feel that United should sign Dante, with 61.8% indicating that they favour a move for the Brazilian, possibly as a short-term solution with Nemanja Vidic and Rio Ferdinand past their prime and the likes of Chris Smalling and Phil Jones still adjusting to the task.
United's wretched campaign continued on Thursday morning when they were dumped out of the Capital One Cup on penalties after drawing 3-3 with Sunderland, converting only once from the spot at home.
With Juan Mata expected to complete a £37 million move to the Theatre of Dreams from Chelsea pending a medical, Moyes will hope the signing of the Spanish playmaker can be a catalyst for his team to turn around their season.
