Ghanaians Abroad: Badu & Atsu score, Opare injured as Essien & Frimpong go missing

The Udinese midfielder and Atsu were the only Ghanaians who scored over the weekend as Goal Ghana brings you a wrap-up of performances of Ghana players abroad


Asamoah Gyan played the entire game as Al Ain played a 0-0 away draw with bottom side Ajman.


Jonathan Mensah lasted full time as Evian TG played a 0-0 away draw with Rennes. John Boye is still on the recovery trail. Jordan Ayew played 80 minutes as bottom place Sochaux lost 0-2 to Montpellier at home.


Christian Atsu helped Vitesse Arnhem to a 2-1 away victory over PEC Zwolle, scoring a 3rd minute opener. Fred Benson came into the game in the 73rd minute for PEC.

Kwame Quansah played the first 45 minutes of Heracles' 1-3 away loss to leaders FC Twente.
Shadrach Eghan was unused for the hosts. Matthew Amoah is still out.

Jeffrey Sarpong also featured 61 minutes for Nac Breda who were beaten 3-1 by AZ. Johan Kappelhoff also played full time for Gronningen who drew 1-1 with RKC Waalwijk. In the Erste division winger Erixon Danso played 90 minutes for Dordrecht who drew 1-1 with Excelsior.

Patrick Amoah and Jonathan Opoku came on for their respective sides in the 61st and 73rd minute as Fortuna Sittard beat Oss 1-0.


Richmond Boakye-Yiadom came on in the 76th minute and provided the assist for the second goal as Elche beat Rayo Vallecano 2-0 at home.

Kwadwo Asamoah played 80 minutes for Juventus who thrashed Sampdoria 4-2 at home in Turin. Alfred Duncan played the first 45 minutes of Livorno's 0-3 away loss at the hands of AS Roma.

Emmanuel Agyemang-Badu also scored a volley in the 68th minute and played full time as Udinese lose 3-2 to Lazio. Raman Chibsah played full time for Sassuolo who were beaten 2-0 by Torino.

Isaac Cofie also played 90 minutes in defensive midfield role for Genoa who beat Inter 1-0
Afriyie Acquah played the last five minutes for Parma who beat Chievo 1-0. Boadu Acosty did not feature for Chievo.


Daniel Opare sustained an injury and was substituted in the 36th minute as Standard Liege went on to beat KV Oostende 2-0 at home. Nana Kwesi Asare played 90 minutes as Gent lost 0-1 at home to Kortrijk.


Teenager Moustapha Quaynor played the entirety of lowly Alki's 1-2 home defeat to leaders Apollon.


Michael Essien was not in the Chelsea match day squad as they thrashed Manchester United 3-1 at Stamford Bridge. Both Emmanuel Frimpong and Derek Boateng were ignored by their respective clubs as Arsenal beat Fulham 2-0 in the London derby.

Prince Buaben played the entire game as Carlisle United lost 2-4 at home to Colchester United. Abdul Osman played 86 minutes as Crewe Alexandra lost 1-2 at home to leaders Leyton Orient.

Jo Kuffour came on in the 71st minute as Wycombe Wanderers lost 0-1 at home to Oxford United. Patrick Agyemang (90 minutes) helped Portsmouth to a 1-1 home draw with Mansfield Town.


David Addy played full throttle for Vitoria Guimaraes, helping them to a 1-0 away win over lowly Olhanense.


Edwin Gyimah played 36 minutes as SuperSport United went away and beat Orlando Pirates 2-1. Fatau Dauda was absent for the hosts. Ghana defender John Paintsil saw full action as Santos lost away to Ajax in a friendly game on Saturday.


Harrison Afful helped leaders Esperance de Tunis to a 3-0 home win over CS Hammam-Lif.


Emmanuel Banahene played the entire game as Şanliurfaspor lost 0-2 at home to Manisaspor.
