Two assists and two goals in a 7-3 win. That was what Gareth Bale managed on his full home debut for Real Madrid as they demolished Sevilla in the La Liga on Thrusday morning.
The former Tottenham star has endured a slow start to his career at the Bernabeu after moving in the summer for a world-record fee, thanks to injuries that prevented him from being fully fit.
Criticism poured in after his disappointing performance in the El Clasico last weekend as Real lost 2-1 to Barcelona, but the 24-year-old showed what he was capable of against Sevilla as he teamed up with Cristiano Ronaldo, who blasted home a hat-trick himself.
It appears, however, that Goal Singapore readers are still not convinced that Bale will be a star yet. A majority 49.5% of them feel that he still has to do a lot more to convince, despite his potential. 36.9% disagree though, feeling that Bale has what it takes to succeed, with the remaining 13.6% believing he will turn out to be a flop eventually.
