thumbnail Hello,

The two teams have been drawn against tricky opposition in the form of Ukraine and Sweden

France and Portugal may have been handed tricky ties in their 2014 World Cup European qualifying play-offs, but Goal Singapore readers believe they can navigate through safely.

Les Bleus have been paired with Ukraine, while Portugal will clash with Sweden. Both opposition will not be easy meat at all, with the Ukrainians finishing only one point behind eventual group winners England, while the Swedes memorably fought back from 3-0 down at half-time against winners Germany to draw 4-4 in one of their group games.

But the prospect of Frank Ribery and Cristiano Ronaldo missing out on Brazil next year seems difficult to comprehend, and 53% of our readers are of the opinion that both men have what it takes to lead their sides to the World Cup.

Portugal's game with a Zlatan Ibrahimovic-led Sweden side may appear to be the tougher task out of the two and that is reflected by the next highest choice, with 25% believing that France will make it through, while Portugal will fall. Only a minority of 6.7% think the reverse will be true, while the rest simply think both teams will stumble at this final hurdle.

The other match-ups are Greece against Romania and Iceland against Croatia, with all the first legs set to be played on November 15.
