TEAM South Africa
Morocco 1-1 South Africa

Tokelo Rantie will lead the line of attack for Bafana Bafana as the team enters a new era. Rantie's scintillating burst of pace and composed finish against Morocco helped the side secure an impressive 1-1 draw with the Atlas Lions in Agadir City. The striker's goal showed off his defining attributes, his pace and finishing ability deadly enough to hurt any opposition. The 23-year-old's move to Championship club Bournemouth will see him develop quickly as he plays against more competitive opposition week in, week out. Rantie has been a consistent performer for Bafana Bafana and will be seen performing on the international stage on many more occasions.

Congratulations to Tokelo Rantie's 50th South Africa Player of the Week winner!

Honourable Mention

Daylon Claasen- Bafana Bafana

Claasen provided Tokelo Rantie with a terrific through-ball to set up South Africa's opener against Morocco on Friday night. The influential midfielder displayed his passing ability and vision during the friendly international, perhaps even cementing his place in the midfield for Bafana Bafana.

Siyanda Xulu- Bafana Bafana

Xulu's consistent form for club side FC Rostov translated into a solid performance for his national side on Friday night, as the central defender was a significant force in defence for Bafana Bafana. Xulu is another name which could become synonymous with the new chapter of South African football.
Vuyani Ntanga- Bloemfontein Celtic

Siwele successfully defended their Macufe Cup crown, thanks to a stunning free kick from Ntanga, which would have helped Celtic recover some morale after a poor start to the PSL season.

Each week our team of writers will put forward a selected candidate, as chosen by South Africa, who deserves recognition for achieving something special that matchday.

You can also help us choose a worthy recipient of the weekly accolade by leaving your nominations and comments. Your suggestions will be taken into consideration.

It won't necessarily be the best player in the country - at least not usually - but whoever we crown will have accomplished something amazing. It might be for a particularly awesome performance or for something praiseworthy off the pitch - either way, the person in question deserves special attention...
