thumbnail Hello,

Mark Schwarzer responded to his omission from the latest Socceroos squad with a clean sheet on debut for Chelsea, while Dario Vidosic opened his account in Switzerland

Mark Schwarzer made his competitive debut for Chelsea and kept a clean sheet as they beat Swindon Town 2-0 in the Capital One Cup, with his fellow Aussie Massimo Luongo seeing out the 90 minutes for the beaten hosts.

Big winner - Dario Vidosic

Vidosic helped his side further up the table, playing a full 90 minutes, scored in the 70th minute and set up the other in the 77th as FC Sion came from behind to win 2-1 over Lausanne-Sport. The win moves Sion up to eighth on the table.

In the doghouse - Tom Rogic

Poor Rogic is enduring something of a tough time early in his first full season in Scotland. He made only his second start for Celtic in all competitions on Wednesday, lining up against second tier side Greenock Morton in the League Cup. In what was a shock 1-0 defeat in extra-time for the Scottish champions, Rogic failed to make an impact and was substituted in the 65th minute.

Elsewhere, Neill Kilkenny came on as a 75th-minute sub as Bristol City went down 2-0 to Southampton in the League Cup.

And Dylan McGowan played a full match and converted his penalty in the shootout as Hearts FC beat Queen of the South 4-2 on penalties after a 3-3 draw in the Scottish League Cup.

Mitch Langerak secured a clean sheet as Borussia Dortmund defeated 1860 Munich 2-0 in the DFB-Pokal Cup.

Robbie Kruse started again but was substituted in the 74th minute with adding to his goal-scoring tally as Bayer Leverkusen beat Arminia Bielefeld 2-0.

Nikita Rukavystya came on the 72nd minute while Mathew Leckie was taken off in the 84th minute as FSV Frankfurt went down 2-0 to FC Ingolstadt in round two of German Cup, a sharp reversal in fortunes after both players had been on the scoresheet in a 4-1 win over the same opposition in the league four days earlier.

Tommy Oar played a full match for FC Utrecht, who won 4-1 at FC Den Bosch in the Dutch Cup.

Mathew Ryan kept a clean sheet as Club Brugge KV beat KSV Oudenaarde 1-0 in round six of the Belgian Cup

And Oliver Bozanic played a full match but was unable to prevent FC Luzern losing 2-0 to Grasshopper Zurich in a clash between fourth and second respectively in the Swiss Super League.
