thumbnail Hello,

The fourth match day of the 2013 Caf Champions League group stage will take place this weekend, with four fixtures across the continent

With some teams already ahead on points in the Caf Champions League group phase, the fourth match day could be decisive in determining who qualifies to the knockout stage of the competition.

Group A

Saturday August 31, 2013

Al Ahly (Egypt) – AC Leopards (Congo)

After defeating AC Leopards 1-0 in the reverse fixture played in Congo two weeks ago, Al Ahly hope to walk away with another victory against their Saturday’s visitors, who appear to have lost momentum following the lone-goal mishap in front of their enthusiastic local supporters.

Zamalek (Egypt) – Orlando Pirates

Egyptian giants Zamalek will be playing their last card in the competition against group leaders Orlando Pirates on Sunday in Cairo. After losing two matches and drawing one, the White Knights now sit at the bottom with one point and on the verge of elimination, but could bounce back into the race with a convincing triumph against the Buccaneers.

Table: 1. Orlando Pirates 7 pts (+7), 2. AC Leopards 4 pts (+1), 3. Al Ahly 4 pts (+2), 4. Zamalek 1 pt (+2)

Group B

Saturday August 31, 2013

Esperance Tunis (Tunisia) - Sewe San Pedro (Cote D’Ivoire)

Esperance are favoured to finish off the encounter after they beat the Ivorians 1-0 at their home turf in Abidjan a fortnight ago. However, Sewe coach Rigo Gervais told Goal that his side now have nothing to lose in the competition and will play without pressure in a bid to frustrate the Blood and Gold.

Recreativo de Libolo (Angola) - Coton Sport (Cameroon)

Cameroon champions Coton Sports are tied with leaders of Group B Esperance on 6 points. Both sides quest is strengthening their status, however, Coton will face a determined Recreativo, who are aiming for a home win to double their score to six to become a strong challenger for the group’s berth to the semi finals.

Table: 1. Esperance 6pts (+3), 2. Coton Sport 6 pts (+3), 3. Sewe Sport 3 pts (+3), 4. Recreativo de Libolo 3 pts (+3)
