Goal takes a critical look at new Sofapaka Ugandan coach Sam Timbe, who was appointed on Tuesday after signing a two year contract at the club
The Ugandan coach boast of having won the regional club championships with three different clubs.
His first regional club title was in 2005 when he won it with Villa of Uganda. Five years later, he achieved the same feat with Yanga of Tanzania which was a year after he had won it with Rwanda’s Atraco.
Many pundits describe him as a powerful and smart coach in tournaments and believe in the attack minded style.
One year ago, Ugandan Paper The Observer, described Timbe as among the best in the region.
In a special tribute to the coach, the paper said:”No coach is as decorated as Timbe in Cecafa club football.
Critics attribute his feats to his calmness. This calmness has rubbed off to his charges who usually are collected during pressure moments. It’s unlikely that Timbe will rant at his players while on the touchline, but encourage them to believe.”
As exclusively revealed by Goal, Timbe has signed a two year contract with Batoto ba Mungu and will start work this Friday when Sofapaka takes on Nairobi City Stars in a league match at Nyayo Stadium.
