The heavy defeat marked the end of a disappointing campaign for the Lions who struggled throughout the World Cup qualifiers

The Singapore national team have ended the World Cup qualifiers with 6 straight defeats and just two goals scored. The 7-1 defeat to Iraq in the final match was particularly crushing.

Singapore coach Raddy Avramovic believes the heavy defeat showed a gap in standards between South East Asia and Middle East  but will the Lions ever be able to catch up? Will the problem be resolved by an overhaul, or do we need to accept our standards?
