"I know that the club and my agent are speaking. This has been home for 12 years. I have given it everything and hope to be here for many more years," Bartra said at a press conference.
"I am not losing sleep over my renewal, because the most important thing is to train and play well. I don’t think about what might happen.
"I’m very happy with the way things are going. I think it’s important to continue at this level. I’m happy with the confidence shown in me. Tata [Martino, Barca coach] has not doubted once about playing me."
Bartra has made four official appearances for Barcelona so far this term due to Javier Mascherano and Carles Puyol's injury problems, but he does not fear the competition for places once the pair are available again.
"We want them fit again as soon as possible," he insisted. "The more we are, the more competition there is and the better we play.
"If we’re doing well now, I can’t imagine what kind of level we’ll be at when they come back."
