Cruyff: Ancelotti the right man for Real Madrid

The Dutchman, a Barcelona legend, is confident that the 54-year-old Italian coach has what it takes to succeed at the Santiago Bernabeu after Jose Mourinho's exit
Netherlands icon Johan Cruyff feels that Real Madrid have made the right decision to appoint former Paris Saint-Germain boss Carlo Ancelotti as their new head coach following the departure of Jose Mourinho.

The Italian has signed a three-year deal at the Santiago Bernabeu and the Barelona legend has little doubt that the former Chelsea manager will succeed at his new club.

"Ancelotti will be a breath of fresh air. Real Madrid have great players, they just need to play like a team. Ancelotti will make that happen," Cruyff told Marca.

"He has played and coached at the very top, so he knows full well what goes on in the dressing room."

The Dutchman then went on to discuss the imminent arrival of Isco at Madrid, who will be presented to the press after passing his medical.

"I already had a very high opinion of Isco from his performances at Malaga and what he did at the Under-21s European Championships only added to that," he continued. "He has ability but he'll face stiff competition at Real Madrid because there are a lot of other players in his position."

Cruyff was also questioned about the potential arrival of Gareth Bale and he had nothing but praise for the Tottenham star.

"I'm a big fan of him as a player," he enthused. "He would be joining from England, where the style of football is different, but he has bags of talent."
