Alberto Paloschi joins the two South American forwards up front in our pick of the weekend's top-flight action in Italy, with two Fiorentina men in the middle with Daniele De Rossi
After a round of fixtures so rich in goals, it goes without saying that the latest Goal Team of the Week would reflect the attacking quality on offer in Serie A. The 38 goals scored had a big say when our panel sat to pick this forward-thinking best XI for week 33.
Probably the greatest defensive action of the weekend was provided by Samir Handanovic, who produced a fantastic save from Maxi Lopez's penalty as Inter hammered Sampdoria in Genoa. Ahead of him, the Argentine wall of Walter Samuel produced a throwback performance with a solid display and a goal, while it was a Brazilian doing the dirty work for Roma as Leandro Castan helped the Giallorossi see off Atalanta. An Italian who had a big say was Bologna's Nicolo Cherubin, who netted in the Rossoblu's 1-1 derby draw with Parma.
A midfield of enviable quality is anchored by Roma's Daniele De Rossi after he locked the gate against Atalanta, while Fiorentina's Borja Valero and Alberto Aquilani notched three goals and an assist between them in the Viola's incredible 5-3 win at Verona. Alessio Cerci, meanwhile, struck one of the goals of the season for Torino against Genoa.
Up front, Inter's two-goal hero, Mauro Icardi, is joined by a pair of hat-trick heroes. Fellow Argentine Gonzalo Higuain grabbed a treble in Napoli's 4-2 win over Lazio, while Alberto Paloschi took home a match ball of his own thanks to his three goals in Chievo's victory at Livorno.
