The Uruguay international added four more strikes to his tally on Thursday evening, and needs another 36 to equal the Argentina legendEdinson Cavani is dreaming of leapfrogging Diego Maradona on Napoli's list of all-time top goalscorers.
The legendary Argentine netted an impressive 115 goals for the Partenopei during his seven-year spell at the club, and Cavani is hopeful of reaching the 52-year-old's tally in the not too distant future.
The former Palermo star netted four times in Napoli's 4-2 Europa League win over Dnipro Dnipropetrovsk on Thursday, to take his tally to 79, and Cavani is desperate to keep on scoring for the Serie A side.
"Maradona's goalscoring record? I am slowly closing the gap. I can reach his tally," the Uruguay international told La Gazzetta dello Sport.
"It is always a good feeling to score, especially when you're a striker. Napoli are not Cavani-dependant, though. I scored four goals, but my team-mates gave me some great assists."
The 25-year-old has netted 13 goals in 13 appearances for the club this term.
