The Slovakian frontman was clear when asked who he thought would lift the scudetto trophy this year, but also conceded that Juventus will run them close come May.
“We will win the scudetto,” he told Corriere dello Sport. “We are a fantastic team. This year we know we can handle anyone. We're more mature, and yet we feel rejuvenated – I think that first three league games show that.
“To win a championship here would be great. I still remember the scenes at Stadio Olimpico when we won the Coppa Italia. We are a great group, and a serious team.
“Juventus are the favourites in many peoples' eyes, but we are strong.
“Cavani deserves everything that is happening to him. He is a quality player and a quality person – I can only say good things about him.
“Pandev hasn't surprised me with his performances. He has worked with us for a year now, and I would say that he is stronger than ever. He is amazing.
“Since [Walter Mazzarri] arrived, he has added great value to the squad. He's got results guided us to Europe, and is an example of what longevity can achieve.”
Hamsik concluded by commenting on the recent malaise of AC Milan, who have lost two of their first three Serie A games.
“To change so many players, and especially such important ones is dangerous. I don't really want to comment on the affairs of other clubs, but it is clear that everything that has gone on has changed the structure of the team."
