The Giallorossi's first season under the aegis of their American owners ended in disappointment as the club finished in seventh position in the league, outside the European qualification zone.
However, Roma have been very busy revamping their squad in the summer with fresh faces, and Pjanic thinks that the club will fare much better this time around.
"I think my first year in Italy was good, but I hope that I will be able to do even better," he told Roma Channel.
"We have a new coach now and we have to get used to his methods. We can do very well this season. I think that we will fight for a place in the top three."
The Bosnia international scored three goals in 33 appearances in his first season at Roma following his transfer from Olympique Lyonnais last summer for a reported €11 million fee.
