The 35-year-old's current contract with the Rossoneri expires this summer and his representative has admitted that his client would find it difficult to leave the clubGianluca Zambrotta's agent has revealed that the versatile defender would like to remain at AC Milan.
The former Italy international is out of contract in the summer and has not yet been told if he will be offered a new deal.
The player's representative, Giuseppe Bonetto, has admitted that his client's preference is to remain with the Rossoneri, but insists that Zambrotta's sole focus at the moment is the Serie A title race.
"It is certainly hard to leave when you are at a club like Milan. Things are really good here," the agent told Milan News.
"The future starts after June 30. The club have the right to allow a player’s contract to run down and then evaluate things.
"Now, however, it is not the time to think about what will happen. The championship is at a critical stage right now, so we’ll have to wait and see."
The Rossoneri are currently second in the standings, three points behind Juventus with just three rounds remaining.
