Singapore drawn alongside tricky sides; Tajikistan, Palestine and Oman in the 2014 Asian Cup

The draw for the football event of the 2014 Asian Games was held earlier today and Singapore have been drawn in the same group as Oman, Palestine and Tajikistan. Both Oman and Tajikistan look set to represent tricky challenges for Aide Iskandar's young charges.

Causeway rivals, Harimau Muda meanwhile were drawn drawn in the same group as hosts South Korea, Asian powerhouse Saudi Arabia and fellow South East Asian side, Laos.

The Asian Games football tournament is a under-23 tournament with only 3 overage players allowed. The tournament kicks off on September 14, five days before the official opening ceremony. Only the top two teams from each group will qualify to the next round.
