The Chelsea manager declared that his side was out of the Premier League title race after their shock 1-0 loss to Crystal Palace over the weekend
The Blues manager watched on as his team fell behind to an own goal from captain John Terry at Selhurst Park, with the hosts hanging on to deny them even a draw and blow the title race wide open.
"I think now we lose any chance of finishing first," he told BBC Radio 5live. "Now we depend too much on other results. I know Mr Foy's weekend was an important weekend in this run.
"But today we lost three points, we lost against a team that was better than us in terms of spirit and mentality. We can only blame ourselves.
With Liverpool thrashing Tottenham 4-0 on Sunday night to go top with six games left, Chelsea trail them by two points while Manchester City lurk two further behind in third, but with two games in hand.
However, the majority of Goal Singapore readers believe that the Portuguese is playing mind games, with 52.4% indicating that even if it was true Chelsea didn't stand a chance now, Mourinho is simply up to his usual antics to try and derail the other title contenders.
A further 31.4% agree outright that Chelsea have left themselves with too much to do, while the remaining 16.2% believe they are still in with a shout.
