The electrical, IT and furniture retailer has renewed their sponsorship with the Young Lions for a fourth consecutive season ahead of the 2014 S.League campaign

Courts has revealed that it will be renewing its sponsorship with the Young Lions (CYL) for the fourth consecutive season in the upcoming S.League season.

The announcement was made at a press conference on Friday afternoon at the Jalan Besar Stadium, where the 33-man squad was also officially unveiled.

Graced by Football Association of Singapore (FAS) president Zainudin Nordin, general secretary Winston Lee, S.League CEO Lim Chin, Young Lions head coach Aide Iskandar and Courts Singapore CEO Tim Luce, the press conference underlined the importance of the team’s development in their bid for SEA Games gold in 2015.

“Our renewal of the title sponsorship of Courts Young Lions sees us taking this partnership into its fourth year, underscoring our commitment to the development of local football and nurturing budding footballers,” Luce said.

“We will continue using the common love of football to unite Singaporeans, especially in support of the CYL team in the S.League and their 2015 SEA Games journey, and I look forward to seeing how the team will up their game this season.”

Similarly, with the majority of the team eligible to represent Singapore in the SEA Games next year, Zainudin is looking forward to see the team develop this season after coming back from their month-long training camp in Turkey.

“Youth development remains a key objective for the FAS and the Courts Young Lions continues to be an important platform where budding youth internationals compete against much older and more experienced players on a professional level,” Zainudin said.

“They have done very well in their training camp in Turkey, where they faced tough top-level opposition and emerged with encouraging results and I, for one, am excited at watching these players develop further playing in our S.League.”

The Young Lions will kick off their S.League campaign against Balestier Khalsa at the Jalan Besar Stadium on Sunday.
