Starting November 17, the 2013 Goal Singapore Football Awards will recognise the best in Singapore football talents as the first annual all-inclusive football awards in Singapore

Another exciting year of Singapore football draws to a close as we fast approach the South East Asia
Games in Myanmar, where the Young Lions will go in search of a historic first gold medal.

Earlier this year, fans bore witness to the LionsXII becoming the first Singapore side since 1994 to win a
Malaysian competition, as they lifted the Malaysian Super League crown. Domestically, S.League fans
rejoiced as Tampines Rovers retained their league title for the second year running and Home United
swept to victory in the Singapore Cup.

Having witnessed and covered every key event in Singapore football since launching in January 2012,
Goal Singapore have announced they will pay homage to the talented and well-deserving Singapore
football fraternity with the introduction of the Goal Singapore Football Awards.

Starting November 17, the 2013 Goal Singapore Football Awards will recognise the best in Singapore
football talents as the first annual all-inclusive football awards in Singapore.

The awards will be made in five different categories: Player of the Year (for players of Singaporean
nationality), Foreign Player of the Year (for Singapore-based players), Young Player of the Year (for
players of Singaporean nationality under the age of 21), Women's Player of the Year (for Singaporean
and Singapore-based players) and Coach of the Year (for Singaporean and Singapore-based coaches).
What makes the awards even more exciting is that the winners will be in part decided by Goal readers,
who will be able to vote for their favourite nominees in each of the five categories. The readers' choice
winner will be awarded two votes in an internal voting process involving a panel of football experts.

The winners of the awards will be revealed on December 8 and each winner will be awarded a Goal
trophy, similar to the one that was presented to 2012 Goal 50 winner, Barcelona and Argentina star Lionel
Messi.

During the three-week period of voting, Goal readers can also look forward to exclusive interviews and
features on those in the running for the awards. The full list of nominees will be unveiled on November 17
with the voting process commencing on the same day.

In addition, two further accolades will also be made as part of the Goal Singapore Football Awards. The
Goal Singapore Team of the Year, comprising of Singaporean and Singapore-based players will also be
selected by a panel of experts and will feature the best 11 players of the calendar year. The Milestone
Award will be a special recognition handed to one individual or organisation who have been deemed to
have made a significant achievement or contributed greatly to the cause of Singapore football. The
winner of this award is to be selected by the Goal Singapore team.

Both the Team of the Year and Milestone Award will be announced during the course of the award period
from November 17 to December 8.

Goal Singapore invites media friends, readers, fans, affiliates and partners to join in recognising and
celebrating the undeniable talent offered by Singapore football.
