LionsXII will be tough to beat, says ATM's Amiridzwan Taj

The towering defender also went on to insist that they will be doing their level best to defeat the Singapore side this weekend
ATM defender Amiridzwan Taj believes that taking on LionsXII in the Malaysia Cup this weekend will be a delicate challenge, with their semi finals dream at stake.

The Armed Forces suffered a 0-1 defeat in the first leg last week, and Amiridzwan believes that it will need a strong performance from them to break V. Sundramoorthy's men down on Saturday.

"The task of beating LionsXII will be heavy," he told Goal Malaysia exclusively.

"However, we will be doing our best to beat them and ensure that we progress to the next stage of the competition."

ATM performed decently at the Jalan Besar Stadium, but they were dealt with a blow when LionsXII scored the only goal of the game through Madhu Mohana. It showed signs of defensive frailties, something that Amiridzwan believes was derived from the lack of focus.

"We were a little nervous on the day because we all know what LionsXII are capable of. Our players played according to the plan but we conceded the goal through a defensive mistake during the set-piece situation.

"This is something we have addressed and we will be prepared to take them on this weekend."

ATM will be facing LionsXII at the Selayang Stadium on Saturday, with kick off slated at 8.45 pm.
