The Singapore coach is also aiming for an opening victory against Timor Leste and is confident his young boys can perform well during the tournament in SurabayaSingapore Under-19 coach Dejan Gluscevic has spelt out his desire to meet hosts Indonesia in the final of the AFF U19 Championship, ahead of their first match tonight.
The Serb will lead his young charges out to face Timor Leste in their Group A opener at the Gelora Delta Sidoarjo this evening, but is already eyeing a spot in the final.
"I want the team to win in every game, just like how Indonesia coach [Indra Sjafri] wants the same for his team," Gluscevic said at the pre-tournament press conference yesterday.
"Personally, I'd like to see Singapore meet Indonesia in the final."
Timor Leste assistant coach Eduardo Pereira admits his team are underdogs, but vowed they would give their all.
"Most of our players are from the U16 team and they trained together in the last six months," he revealed.
"We know that we are not favorites in this tournament but we will do our best."
Singapore have taken a 23-man squad to Surabaya for the tournament and will are due to take on Timor Leste at 7.30p.m. tonight. They will play Philippines, Laos and Cambodia in subsequent group matches.
