A goalless draw against title rivals Chelsea last weekend did not sit well with many Manchester United fans. Add to that, the fact that it was the first goalless draw at Old Trafford since 2009 and David Moyes already has question marks over his brief tenure.
Come Sunday they will be taking on arguably their biggest rivals, Liverpool who have been having a resurgence of their own of late under Brendan Rodgers.
Life-long Liverpool fan and Vice-president of the Singapore chapter of the Reds' official fan club, Henry Han feels that the game will bring out the best from both sets of players.
"The mid-week Capital One League Cup game may have caused a bit of worry in defence, but I think Rodgers will sort that out against Man Utd," said Henry.
"This will be a good gauge on how the team has progressed since last season. A moment of brilliance or madness could be the deciding factor for three points."
The weekend will also see another crunch fixture. V.Sundramoorthy's LionsXII have had a dismal start to their Malaysia Cup campaign and a defeat in Perak on Tuesday left them grasping for a slot in the knockout stages. Saturday evening, Jalan Besar Stadium will see the Lions take on Perak again and nothing less than a win will do for the home side who are chasing the double.
