thumbnail Hello,

A new league leader emerged after the conclusion of the latest round, which saw a whopping total of 29 goals being scored across four matches

Middle Rangers FC replaced Police Sports Association at the top of the FAS Women Premier League with a resounding 7-0 win over Petra Football Club in Round 9 of the competition.

The game at First Toa Payoh Secondary School saw Middle Rangers racing to a 4-0 lead by half time, as a brace from Huraizah Ismail within the first 15 minutes was quickly followed up by strikes from Katherine Earl and Tina Afrida.

Half-time subtsitute Sharifah Nuratuhasikin took little time to sink into the match as she scored just six minutes after her introduction. Fellow substitute Siti Erma Ellyana capped off her performance with a goal as Luo Jian Zhen made it a magnificent seven goals for Rangers for two consecutive weeks in a row.

The thumping win leaves Rangers a point ahead of their closest competitors, Young Women and Police.

The game at St Wilfrid between Young Women and Nanyang Polytechnic also did not see a lack of goals as 14 were recorded - all from Young Women.

Siti Wan Nabilah opened the scoring for the Young Women, before Noor Fatin Afiqah sealed her hat-trick right after the hour mark. Kamaliah Hashim then ensured that the Young Women entered the break with an unassailable lead.

Nabilah Abd Latiff then opened her accounts just two minutes after the break as Fatin Afiqah then slotted in one more shortly after.

Not to be outdone by her teammate, Kamaliah Hashim then went on a scoring frenzy, grabbing three goals in 15 minutes. The demolition was completed by Eunice Ong, Nur Sabrina, Siti Nurhidayah and Noor Fatin Afiqah, who each scored in the final 15 minutes.

Fifth-placed Jollilads Arsenal FC triumphed over Warriors FC in an encounter which ended 4-1. Warriors took the lead first when Nur Shafiqah Bte Azman scored in the second minute. Nurjannah Jamalludin then equalised for Jollilads in the 14th minute. There were to be two more goals from Nurjannah, as she completed her hattrick in the 24th and 53rd minute. Sim Min Li then put the game beyond reach with a 67th-minute strike.

Meanwhile, Arion Football Academy recorded a narrow win over second-from-bottom Winchester FC. A second half brace from Chris Yip-Au was enough for Arion to collect all three points, despite Shahidah Lam getting one back for Winchester.
