'Sunil Chhetri is the one to look out for' - Warriors FC coach V. Selvaraj

The Warriors' captain, Daniel Bennett, meanwhile looked forward to a competitive game, and stressed on how important the tie is, for their AFC Cup hopes...

Warriors FC coach V Selvaraj marked out Sunil Chhetri as the main threat for his side, as the Singapore based side get ready to take on Churchill Brothers.

When quizzed if he thought there was any player in particular, that he thought could prove to be a threat to his team’s hope of winning the tie, Selvaraj commented, “Sunil Chhetri is the one to look out for, he could be the main threat (to our team).”

The Warriors’ coach was also cautious against taking the Red Machines lightly, however he also stressed that his team would settle for nothing less than three points.

“We have watched Churchill Brothers play against Kitchee SC, they are a very good team, we have to get our result and get 3 points.”

The Singapore based side’s captain, Daniel Bennett, lamented how unlucky his team had been so far in the competition, currently being bottom of the table with no points to show for their efforts. He stated, “The two matches we played, could have gone the other way. We let a lead slip in the match against Kitchee SC. I believe there is not too much of a difference in quality between the teams in the league.”

Bennett was optimistic that the game would be a nice, attacking affair, as he opined, “We need a result and need to win. (I think) we have two teams that will be going all out for a victory.”

The Warriors’ captain then pointed out the rich legacy the club has in the competition and mentioned, “We have played in this tournament many times before, have made it past the group stages many times, we believe in this club and with our history we believe we can go through this year's group stage too.”

“The boys are positive, we have our backs against the wall and will surely give our best to get a positive result in this match,” Bennett concluded.
